Ventnor, N.J., sentenced to prison for stabbing at youth baseball park

A Ventnor man will go to prison in 2021 for a stabbing at a youth baseball park.

On Thursday, William Clanton, 24, was sentenced to three years in state prison for third-degree aggravated assault.

Police arrived at the scene to find a victim with four stab wounds to the head, throat, arm and abdomen. Officers administered life-saving treatment and the victim was taken to the hospital and survived.

Clanton was found in the park with two knives and admitted stabbing the victim during the fight.

The investigation was conducted by the Absecon Police Department in conjunction with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit.
