Coronation Street Star Julia Goulding calls out her legendary co-star Helen Worth’s exit As Gail Rodwell, I admit it would be “heartbreaking” to be without her.

When asked if she was genuinely positive or trying to keep the family together, Julia said: “I think she believes what she says but it’s probably a bit of both to be honest.

“They embark on a new adventure, not knowing where they will live, but Shona does a lot to stabilize their future as David spirals. She makes arrangements to look at flats and houses, remaining as positive as ever.”

As for how the Platts will manage without Gail, Julia said things won’t be going “very well” in the near future.

“The Platts are a very strong family. It’s very sad that we are losing our mother,” he said.

“But they’re strong enough to get through this together. It’s a new chapter and an uncertain time for the Platts, but Gail has solidified such a good foundation for the family that they just might survive this.”

Speaking previously about her exit, Helen said: “After celebrating 50 years in the greatest job on the greatest street in the world, this year felt like the perfect time to leave the show.”
