My Favorite Airbnb: A Nature-filled Oasis Along the Columbia River Gorge

Located just east of the Washington-Oregon border Portland Lies the Columbia River Gorge, a remarkable collection of carved basalt cliffs, evergreen trees, and stunning Columbia River views. Even if you live nearby like me, it’s hard to leave once you’ve visited this place of stunning natural beauty. I like to spend solo stays My hometown of Hood River is in the area where I can enjoy a quiet and peaceful retreat without having to travel too far from Oregon.

Cabin with geothermal tub in Washington

On my last visit, I stayed in a modern cabin at Tenzen Springs & Cabins, located in a town called Stevenson, Washington, just an hour from Portland. You can choose from several different cabins, all run by the same host. on AirbnbThe main reason why I chose this model is the mini kitchen, mini refrigerator, kitchen appliances and stove. Others have a microwave oven; This is fine if you don’t plan on cooking, but I wanted to really immerse myself in the property without needing to leave to eat, so I opted for a fully equipped kitchen.

My picturesque journey to Tenzen followed the Columbia River on Highway 14, giving me a glimpse of the beautiful waterway that will be my home tonight. After climbing a windy road to the top of a hill, I came across a welcome sign and gate announcing my arrival at the resort. Self-check-in was easy thanks to the door code provided and the door code for cabin five, my new home. There was also a parking area right next to the cabin, making unloading quick and easy.

Bedroom with plush king bed

The interior of the house was a beautiful blend of traditional Scandinavian design and an authentic Japanese bathhouse. The plush king bed sat on a wooden platform with skylights and large windows overlooking the surrounding trees, giving the perception that you were truly surrounded by nature. To preserve the off-grid nature of the property, there was no television on the property; instead, the space is equipped with comfortable essentials like area guides, coloring books, and games.

There are six cabins on the 100 acres that make up Tenzen Springs & Cabins, with several more cabins under construction. However, it definitely doesn’t feel crowded here. Children and pets are prohibited in the entire area, which definitely affects the noise and activity level. After spending just 20 minutes on the field, I began to feel peace and tranquility. I walked to the edge of the cliff and breathtaking view On the river as the sun begins to set. When I got back to the cabin, I had the chance to see deer in the distance, jumping happily in the tall grass.
