Two of Ducati’s Iconic Motorcycles Are Now Lighter Than Ever

Ozempic may be the popular weight loss drug at the moment, but that has nothing to do with the dramatic weight loss of two of the most famous nameplates of a legendary Italian motorcycle brand.

The new engine sheds a lot of light on lightness. Called the V2, it’s actually the slimmest twin-cylinder Ducati has ever produced and weighs just 120 pounds.

Considering Ducati, we can’t blame you for thinking this could happen. Panigale V2 despite being 33 pounds lighter than its predecessor. Street Fighter V2 It dropped even more dramatically to 40.

The true source of order? A brand new engine followed by significant motorcycle redesigns.

motorized notes

Let’s start with the engine in question, as it sheds a lot of light on lightweight. Called the V2, it’s actually the slimmest twin-cylinder Ducati has ever produced and weighs just 120 pounds. That’s 12.7 pounds less than the closest competitor, the Desmodue Scrambler.

We won’t bore you with too much detail, but key features include IVT variable valve timing, DLC treatment on the rocker arm, and hollow stems for the intake valves. The engine is available in two configurations, 115 hp and 120 hp, each with its own characteristics.
