KALAMAZOO, Michigan — After a half-year of operation, Dimi’s Greek House in the Exchange Building in downtown Kalamazoo has permanently closed its doors.

The owners confirmed the closure on Facebook on Monday, writing: “We regret to inform everyone that Dimi’s Greek House has permanently closed its doors! Thank you Kalamazoo!”

Previously occupied by Junglebird, Dimi’s aims to take guests to a “Greek culinary paradise,” according to the restaurant’s description. website.

Inspired by the “rich traditions of Greek cuisine,” the chefs created a menu that celebrates “the bold flavors and fresh ingredients of the Mediterranean,” according to the website.

Before it became Dimi’s Greek House, the ground floor space of Borsa was occupied by Junglebird.

In a Caribbean-style venue, guests were treated to island-inspired cocktails and cuisine, from charred octopus to homemade empanadas.

Junglebird celebrated its grand opening in September 2022.

However, less than two years later in March, the venue was temporarily closed for a rebranding project that led to the grand opening of Dimi’s Greek House.
