Clinton County Health Department reopens Wendy’s Restaurant in Centralia after being closed due to leaks

The Clinton County Health Department closed the Wendy’s Restaurant on West Broadway in Centralia on Monday due to roof leaks. An official at Wendy’s in Centralia said the restaurant reopened Tuesday afternoon following repairs and a re-inspection by the health department.

The health department’s inspection was conducted in response to a complaint about a leaking roof and found several problems, including: brown water pooling in light fixtures above the service counter and dripping onto beverage equipment, counters and shelves, “severe leakage” from the ceiling in restrooms, service counter /two places behind the beverage area and in the rear kitchen area, water on the floor in the kitchen and service counter areas, water pooling in the hallway and toilets, mop sink drain clogged, and Employees’ clothes getting wet due to leaks in the ceiling.

The inspector immediately closed the restaurant and gave specific instructions on correcting the problems and steps to be taken before the restaurant was allowed to reopen. Wendy’s said the facility met those requirements and reopened Tuesday.
