GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – Authorities in Colorado say the search for a missing college student has ended tragically.

The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of 19-year-old Dallas Roberts over the weekend.

The Colorado Mesa University student was last seen alive on Oct. 28 while heading to the Black Canyon area of ​​Gunnison National Park, authorities said.

While searching for the 19-year-old, park rangers said they discovered his vehicle had crashed about 50 feet from the road and down a hill in the park.

Montrose County officials, public assistance To find Roberts when rangers couldn’t find him at the crash scene.

Last Saturday, authorities called off the search after crews reported finding Roberts’ body.

No other information has been released yet regarding the death of the university student.
