A campfire caused the massive brush burn in Warrensburg last week.

Law enforcement sources tell NewsChannel 13 the brush fire was lit near Sinai Retreat.

Firefighters in Warren County and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said dry conditions and wind made it difficult to extinguish the flames.

5 to 6 acres of land burned in the fire.
