GRAND FORKS — A homeless man who claims President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris “pressured” him to stab a man made his first court appearance on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Moses Ayom, 44, is accused of nearly stabbing to death 37-year-old Travis Vigen at a Grand Forks homeless shelter on Friday, Nov. 1.

According to court documents, Ayom said the attack was unprovoked and was racist and politically motivated. In court Tuesday, Ayom asked if Vigen was dead.

Ayom was arrested after a 60-mile high-speed chase north of Grand Forks.

During his hearing, Ayom said he wanted to go to Canada without causing more problems. The judge set bail at $250,000.

“They need me to do this, and I came across the Canadian border because I didn’t want to cause trouble; that’s why I wanted to go to the United States and be alone because of the Democratic Party,” Ayom told the court. he said.

Ayom faces a total of seven charges, including attempted murder and reckless endangerment, for nearly striking three construction workers during the chase.

Ayom faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder.
