One injured, one in custody in Manhattan stabbing Tuesday morning

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – One person was hospitalized and another person was taken into custody following a stabbing incident in Manhattan on Tuesday, authorities said.

The incident was reported on the Riley County Police Department’s Facebook page around 12:17 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the Facebook post, the incident occurred in the 3000 block of Arbor Drive on the southwest side of Manhattan.

One victim was transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident.

Meanwhile, Riley County police said the suspect is in custody and is being treated for his injuries. There is no statement yet that the suspect was hospitalized.

There is no current threat to public safety, the Facebook post said.

The investigation continues.
