Missing Upstate man may help Helene recover, deputies say

CHESNEE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating a missing man.

Deputies say 31-year-old Dillon Taylor Dehart was last seen Oct. 28 on Chesnee Highway near Fredrick Memorial Gardens.

Investigators said they obtained doorbell camera footage of him wearing the clothing shown in the photos.

Deputies said someone caught him walking near I-26 and took him to the Lake Lure area in North Carolina’s Rutherford County. They believe he may still be in Western North Carolina helping with recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene.

No foul play is suspected at this time, but deputies want to confirm Dehart’s medical condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-888-CRIME-SC.
