    Republicans hold a four-member lead over Democrats in the US House of Representatives 2024 general election; All 435 seats in the parliament go to election on Tuesday.

    But just nearly two dozen races are considered competitiveThis means there is a real chance that control could shift from one side to the other. Those tight elections include the 7th District election between incumbent Democrat Susan Wild and Ryan Mackenzie.

    There are seven districts in the greater Philadelphia district, and the incumbent is running in each. Rep. Dwight Evans (D-3), running undisputed for his seat. He has been representing the district since 2019. He was previously the congressman for the 2nd District from 2016 to 2019 before redistricting.

    Here are the six contested congressional districts and the candidates running in each. Polls in Pennsylvania close at 8pm on Tuesday and will be updated below as results are announced. Winners are predicted by the Associated Press and vote totals are not official until certified by the state.

    Pa. District 1: Brian Fitzpatrick vs. Ashley Ehasz

    1st Congressional District in Pennsylvania to represent All of Bucks County and a small portion of Montgomery County. The incumbent representative is a Republican Brian FitzpatrickHe has represented the region since 2019. In his first term, which started in 2017, his region was numbered as Region 8. Fitzpatrick running against Democrat Ashley Ehasz.

    Pa. District 2: Brendan Boyle vs. Aaron Bashir

    The 2nd U.S. House District in Pennsylvania represents all of Northeast Philadelphia, parts of North Philadelphia east of Broad Street, and parts of the Philadelphia River Wards. The incumbent representative is a Democrat Brendan Boyle. He served in the 13th district from 2015 to 2019. His district became the 2nd District after the state was redistricted by Congress in 2019. Boyle is running against Republicans Harun Bashir.

    Pa. District 4: Madeleine Dean vs. David Winkler

    The 4th District in Pennsylvania represents the majority of Montgomery County and most of Berks County northeast of Reading. Incumbent congressman is a Democrat Madeleine DeanDean, who has represented the 4th District since 2019, is running against Republicans David Winkler.

    Pa. District 5: Mary Gay Scanlon vs. Alfe Goodwin

    The 5th Congressional District in Pennsylvania represents all of Delaware County, an outer district of Chester County (Birmingham County), a small portion of southern Montgomery County, and part of South Philly. The incumbent is a Democrat Mary Gay ScanlonHe has represented the 5th District since 2019. He briefly represented the 7th District in the last two months of 2018, following a special election and just before the state’s redistricting plan took effect. Scanlon running against Republicans Alfe Goodwin.

    Pa. District 6: Chrissy Houlahan vs. Neil Young

    The 6th District of the U.S. House in Pennsylvania covers most of Chester County and the southeastern part of Berks County. Incumbent congressman is a Democrat Chrissy HoulahanHoulahan, elected to the 6th District for the first time since 2019, is running against Republicans Neil Young.

    Pa. District 7: Susan Wild vs. Ryan Mackenzie

    Pennsylvania’s 7th District contests Montgomery County’s northwestern border. It covers all of Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties and parts of Monroe County. The incumbent is a Democrat Susan WildHe has represented the 7th District since 2019. He also represented the 15th district in the last two months of 2018 until the state’s redistricting plan redrew congressional boundaries across Pennsylvania. Wild is running against Republicans Ryan Mackenzie.
