Key Player Eliminated in Warriors-Wizards Match

Golden State Warriors will face the Washington Wizards on Monday night. This game was the return from injury for superstar point guard Steph Curry. Curry, who missed the last three games due to an ankle injury, made his comeback against Washington.

While it was great to see Curry return, the Warriors lost another key player in this game. It doesn’t seem like a serious situation, but the Warriors announced that guard Brandon Podziemski will miss the remainder of the game due to an illness.

Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic: “Fighters say Brandin Podziemski left because he wasn’t feeling well. He was removed from the game at the beginning of the third quarter. “I’m out the rest of the night.”

Podziemski came into this game averaging 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in six games. At the time of his elimination on Monday, Podziemski had two points, four rebounds and one assist.

Podziemski has been instrumental in helping the Warriors start this season, entering this season leading the NBA in plus/minus with +94. As we mentioned before, this doesn’t appear to be anything too serious for the Warriors guard, but he is sidelined for the rest of the game.

The Warriors relied heavily on depth to start the season and will have to improve on that even more in Podziemski’s absence.
