Alabama WR to miss remainder of 2024 season with lower-body injury

Alabama will be without redshirt freshman wide receiver Cole Adams for the remainder of the 2024 season due to a lower-body injury he suffered against Mizzou. After his injury, Adams could not put any weight on his left leg and had to leave the game.

Adams served as Alabama’s starting punt returner this season, returning 11 total punts with the longest return of 12 yards. As a receiver, Adams rarely saw the field, but managed to post 6 receptions for 94 yards, including 2 receptions for 57 yards against South Carolina.

With Adams sidelined this season, we expect Ryan Williams or Jaylen Mbakwe to take primary role in the comeback duties. The duo has combined for 5 punt returns this season.

Alabama is entering a critical week for the College Football Playoff field. The Crimson Tide have 2 losses on the season, but thanks to a busy Week 10, they are back in the mix to clinch a spot should they win.

But this is easier said than done. The Tide will face LSU this weekend in Death Valley looking for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Week 11’s matchup will begin at 7:30 on ABC.
