Man seriously injured after row in Renfrewshire pub toilet

A man was seriously injured in an incident in the toilets of a pub in Renfrewshire.

The disturbance occurred in the bathroom of Habbies Bar in New Street, Kilbarchan, at around 12.30pm on October 6.

A 56-year-old man fell to the ground during an argument with another man and was seriously injured in his leg.

He was transferred to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley for treatment before being discharged a few days later.

Police Scotland has appealed for witnesses to assist the investigation.

Detective Constable Barry Gourlay, of Police Scotland’s Renfrewshire CID, said: “The injured man reported the incident as he was leaving hospital a week after the incident.

“We have since carried out inquiries at the pub and the area and are checking CCTV but are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident or have any information that would assist our investigation.

“We appreciate the incident occurred in a small toilet area and therefore access was limited, but we would still like to hear from anyone with information.”
