FLORENCE, Ky. (WXIX) -One person was hospitalized and another person was arrested following a stabbing in Florence Saturday night, according to Florence police.

Officers said they were called to the parking lot of an apartment complex on Pinehurst Drive around 6:30 p.m.

When police arrived, they said 48-year-old Frederick Stroud had multiple stab wounds to his back, arms and torso.

Officers reported that Stroud was involved in a physical fight with 48-year-old Michael Johnson, during which Johnson stabbed Stroud with a knife.

Stroud was taken to UC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Johnson faces assault charges and is being held at the Boone County Detention Center, officers said.
