Things are not going well in the Champions League. While Atletico got a last-minute win over RB Leipzig in the first match, Simeone’s team lost consecutive matches to Benfica and Lille.

Atletico’s manager is the highest-paid manager in Europe. It would be unrealistic to expect Simeone to keep up with Madrid and Barcelona every year, but even some fans are starting to ask whether a change could happen sooner rather than later.

After losing to Real Betis, Simeone said: “We have work to do and things to improve, starting with myself first.”
