UK teenager charged with attempted murder after stabbing 13-year-old girl

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a 13-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck, abdomen, chest and back in Hessle, East Yorkshire, British media reported on Saturday (November 2).

The incident occurred on Friday morning. In The Guardian’s report, it was stated that the child, whose identity could not be determined for legal reasons, was also accused of possessing a sharp instrument.

Discovery of the victim

The girl was discovered by members of the public on the side of the A63 motorway shortly before 7am on Friday, with multiple cuts on her body, The Guardian reported.

The report also stated that the 13-year-old victim suffered life-threatening injuries. He was in serious but stable condition at the hospital.

The 14-year-old boy was remanded in custody to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

5 more young people were arrested and later released on bail

Five more young people, three boys and two girls, were arrested in connection with the incident in the nearby forest area on suspicion of attempted murder.

These five youths were released from custody on police bail. Those arrested in connection with Friday’s stabbing were known to the victim, Sky News reported early on Sunday, citing Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers.
