A 24-year-old autorickshaw driver was killed after being hit by a car driven by a Delhi Police constable in east Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area.

According to police, the incident took place on Thursday night when vehicles collided head-on near Trilokpuri road. A senior police officer said that the accident was suspected to have happened because the car was coming from the wrong side of the road, but this was further confirmed.

The officer said that soon after receiving a call, a police team reached the spot and found the damaged vehicles, while the autorickshaw driver Harsh was admitted to the hospital, while constable Varun Yadav, the driver of the Hyundai i10 car, was also present at the scene. point. “The victim was found seriously injured and was under police observation in hospital and was unfit to give a statement,” he said.

He said Yadav was posted at Mayur Vihar police station and was going to attend a case taking place within the police station’s jurisdiction. The police officer was detained and sent for medical check-up. “He was not found under the influence of alcohol,” another officer said.
