A concert. Two continents. 50 giant rocks. Broadcast live to the world. On behalf of those starving in Ethiopia during the worst famine of the 20th century, in the midst of the longest war of the 20th century.

It also marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Boomtown Rats, the Dublin band founded by Geldof, who came from Ireland to join the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Ramones and others to change the face of music forever.

But just this once, it’ll be stopping at a theater near you so you can hear it all from the legend himself.

The program will blend acoustic performances of Bob’s best-loved songs with engaging anecdotes, shedding light on both his personal development and the behind-the-scenes moments that defined a generation. Enhanced by multimedia presentations, the evening offers a unique opportunity to engage with Bob’s charismatic presence and his relentless advocacy for justice and change.

Dustin Lockett of The Entertainment Lab expressed his excitement for the tour, saying, “Growing up, we all adored Bob, not only for his music, but also for his unique impact on the world stage, from creating a global response to the famine in Ethiopia. Global justice This tour is more than a musical event; it is an inspiration for everyone.”

The event also marks a celebration of Bob’s impactful initiatives, including the revolutionary Live Aid and Live 8 concerts that significantly changed the landscape of international aid, trade and politics and set an example for celebrity-led activism. With more than $42 billion in aid and debt relief and significant policy changes mobilized under his watch, Bob’s influence continues to be a powerful force in global humanitarian efforts.

In 2008, Bob added a third leg to his African ‘tripod’ (philanthropy, justice, investment) by launching the 8 Mile PE Fund. Over $200,000,000 in funds under management have created direct and indirect employment for more than 100,000 people from Cape Town to Cairo.

As Bob continues to advocate for the voiceless and run his many entrepreneurial ventures, this tour offers a rare glimpse into the life of a man who devoted his life to improving the world. His ongoing influence is reflected in his numerous awards, including more Nobel Peace Prize nominations than any other living nominee, the Nobel Peace Prize, Knighthood, and numerous prestigious awards for music and activism.

This tour promises an evening of inspiration, music and intimate storytelling.

About BOB GELDOF:

BOB GELDOF is an internationally renowned musician, philanthropist and activist whose influence spans more than four decades. As the frontman of iconic rock band The Boomtown Rats, Geldof’s rise to fame in the late 1970s was marked by hits such as “I Don’t Like Mondays” and “Rat Trap” that cemented his place in music history. But it is his relentless commitment to social justice and humanitarian causes that has made him a global icon.

In 1984, Geldof co-founded Band Aid, and in 1985 he organized the historic Live Aid concerts, which brought together the world’s biggest music stars to raise funds and awareness against famine in Africa. Their efforts helped raise over $127 million for charity and brought attention to global poverty and injustice. He followed this in 2005 with Live 8, a worldwide concert series aimed at pressuring political leaders to fight poverty.

Geldof has remained a committed advocate for change, using his platform to advocate for issues such as debt cancellation, global poverty and human rights. A tireless campaigner, his work has earned him numerous awards, including Nobel Peace Prize nominations and the prestigious Man of Peace Award.
