Eight RBs to start or sit

play

Week 9 between 2024 NFL season Two teams take part in the bye weeks: San Francisco 49ers And Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams are two of the best attacking teams of the last month. Najee Harris And Jordan Mason leads fantasy teams.

Between this situation and recent injuries at the position, fantasy football managers have some tough picks for their rosters this week. If you’re deciding which RB to put on your roster, we’ve got you covered.

Here are eight running backs who will start or sit in Week 9:

Fantasy football begins: Week 9 RBs

Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings (etc. Indianapolis Colts)

Jones had a week on “Thursday Night Football” against the Rams in Week 8, but he needs to fix that in prime time this week. Minnesota returns home for “Sunday Night Football” against the Colts, who have allowed 162.5 yards rushing and four touchdowns per game over the past four weeks. The Vikings need proper play, and Jones could lead that effort.

Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams (per hour Seattle Seahawks)

Williams scored in his 10th consecutive game in Week 8 and is expected to continue that streak on Sunday. Seattle has one of the worst run defenses in the league, allowing close to 200 total yards rushing per game over the last four weeks. They also allowed four goals in that span. Los Angeles’ offense looked like it came back strong in Week 8, and they need to repeat that on Sunday, especially on the field.

Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons (etc. Dallas Cowboys)

Allgeier has been quiet over the past two weeks against the Seahawks and Buccaneers, totaling 18 touches for 78 yards. This could be the week he picks things up again. Dallas was tied with Carolina for most rushing yards allowed per game, and Allgeier carved up the Panthers’ defense for 108 total yards and a touchdown.

Chubba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers (etc. New Orleans Saints)

With Jonathan Brooks’ debut looming, Hubbard is running out of fantasy value. Luckily, the Panthers face one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. The Saints have allowed seven touchdowns and 177 total yards rushing per game over the past four weeks. Hubbard has been a consistent starter in fantasy this season despite the injury loss for the Panthers, and this is a good week to have him on your roster.

Fantasy football sit ’em: Week 9 RBs

Rachaad White or Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Pirates (per hour Kansas City Chiefs)

Tampa Bay’s running back tandem was effective against Atlanta last week. White had 11 touches for 67 yards and a touchdown, and Irving had 16 touches for 84 yards. But Kansas City is the toughest fantasy defense against running backs. The Chiefs haven’t allowed a running back group more than 100 total yards since Week 1. They haven’t given up scoring on running backs since Week 3. Stay away if you can in the 9th week.

Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos (per hour Baltimore Ravens)

Williams followed up his Week 7 debut with a 52-yard fumble in Week 8 against the Panthers. He replaces one of the worst run defenses in the league with the best defense on the Ravens. Baltimore is allowing 69.9 rushing yards per game this season. Their only weakness is getting running backs, but that’s not Williams’ strongest suit.

Travis Etienne Jr. or Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars (per hour Philadelphia Eagles)

Both Jaguars running backs head into a meet this week looking to improve their run defense while rehabbing injuries. Philadelphia has given up a total of 91.3 yards per game to opposing running back groups over the last three contests and allowed just one touchdown. Jacksonville also traded for starting tackle Cam Robinson.

J. K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers (per hour Cleveland Browns)

Dobbins has been one of the most valuable picks in fantasy football this season, but he will likely struggle this weekend. The Browns looked reinvigorated with quarterback Jameis Winston last week, and the defense is improving as more players get healthy. The Browns defense has allowed opposing running back groups to concede just 10 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks. They slowed down the Ravens’ rushing attack in Week 8 better than any team in the NFL this year. If it’s a must-start, that’s understandable, but don’t expect a remarkable day.
