Jazz Found Near the Bottom of ESPN’s Latest NBA Power Rankings

In the first four games of the 2024-25 NBA season, Utah Jazz We’ve come a long way from an easy way to start. The team started winless with an overall record of 0-4, saw sophomore forward Taylor Hendricks suffer a brutal year-ending leg injury, and they still didn’t get optimal production from their rookie talent.

It’s no secret that this team’s rebuild isn’t going to take a 180-degree turn overnight, but when we take a step back and look at how this season started, it’s not an attractive outlook.

“Cody Williams is the only one of the Jazz’s three rookies to get significant playing time, and he’s off to a slow start as he adjusts to the pace of the NBA game,” said insider Tim MacMahon going into Utah’s rankings. “The No. 10 pick and younger brother of the Oklahoma City star jalen williamsThe rookie forward averaged 2.0 points and 3.7 rebounds on 18.2% shooting in 20 minutes per game during the Jazz’s 0-4 start. However, the Jazz are excited about the potential of the 6-7-year-old, 190-pound junior due to his excellent game feel and athleticism.”

They didn’t have much success overall during the Jazz’s early sample issues. It takes a few minutes to analyze, but regardless, it’s easy to see how Utah got to its current situation.

With such a young core, it’s not too surprising to see this team get off to a rocky start early, but as with any youth movement, it takes time to achieve the desired growth and development. The Jazz have done an impressive job of assembling talent in their rebuild over the past three seasons, and although things look ugly right now, with patience this group will have what it takes to turn the page when the time comes.
