Even by Nikola Jokić By stratospheric standards, Tuesday’s performance was something special.

Jokić put up a ridiculous performance of 29 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists in the Denver Nuggets’ 144-139 overtime win over the Brooklyn Nets, becoming the second player in NBA history and the first in 62 years to reach this stat mark.

The only player to reach these totals in a match before was Oscar Robertson, who did it twice in 1962.

The Nuggets (2-2) needed every point, every rebound and every assist Jokić gave them; He was struggling with a 17-point lead in the first half until the Serb’s hook shot brought the score to 125-125. Nine seconds left in the fourth quarter.

A total of four Nuggets players reached 20 points, with six scoring in double figures. Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray scored 24 points, while Russell Westbrook came off the bench and added 22 points, his best performance since joining the team.

The Nuggets have made it to two straight overtime games following Monday night’s win against the Toronto Raptors.

“It’s just an extra five minutes, it’s not actually that much extra game time,” Jokić said.

For Nets, Dennis Schröder was the top scorer of his team with 28 points and 14 assists, while Cam Thomas scored 26 points and Cameron Johnson scored 20 points. Seven Nets players scored double-digit points in the match, which Brooklyn finished 1-3.

Minnesota Timberwolves fans will have felt a familiar sinking feeling as they watched Luka Dončić’s final 3-pointer beat the Dallas Mavericks 120-114 on Tuesday.

Dončić gave Timberwolves fans a nightmare last season with his crucial shots in the Mavs’ 4-1 series win in the Western Conference Finals, and this was the first time the two teams had faced each other since then.

The Slovenian player finished the match with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, while his backcourt mate Kyrie Irving played with 35 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

Luka Dončić gave Timberwolves fans some unwanted deja vu.

Just like he did in last season’s play-offs, Dončić had some choice words for the T-Wolves fans after coaching the trio.

“I’ve heard a lot of things, they really like me here,” Dončić joked after the match, according to ESPN. “You know, last year was a lot of fun. It was a big moment in my career and my life, so it was a lot of fun to come back here.”

Anthony Edwards scored 37 points and 6 rebounds, and Randle played with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the Timberwolves, who traded Karl-Anthony Towns for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo in the off-season.

The Golden State Warriors came back from 20 points down in the first half and achieved a big 124-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans without Steph Curry’s injury.

The Warriors were also without the injured Andrew Wiggins, but Buddy Hield had a team-high 28 points, including 7-of-11 from three-point range.

Lindy Waters III, who was a surprising but welcome source of production for the Warriors, also had 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

Warriors role players stepped up in Curry's absence.

Head coach Steve Kerr had praise for Waters III after the game.

“I’ve said this since the first day of camp, this guy is a ball player,” Kerr told reporters. “When he’s out there the game flows. This is not only because he is a good shooter, but also because he is a good basketball player.

“The shots he couldn’t take because of his patience. His cuts to the basket are his getting into fights on defense. “From the first day of camp, this guy has obviously been one of our best players.”

Curry is currently sidelined with a left ankle sprain suffered in Sunday’s 112-104 loss to the Clippers and is expected to be re-evaluated on Friday.

Zion Williamson scored a game-high 31 points for the Pelicans, while Brandon Ingram also scored 30 points. However, some stale shooting from the team in the second quarter allowed Golden State to close the gap from 20 points to 4 in the first half before the Warriors. He took off to control the game in the third round.
