Some streets in downtown Mansfield will be closed Wednesday because the city was chosen as a filming location for an upcoming television commercial.

The City of Mansfield and Downtown Mansfield Inc. said in a news release that the street closures were necessary for safety and filming reasons.

The news release did not specify details about who shot the ad or what was promoted in the ad.

Mayor Jodie Perry said late Tuesday that she heard the ad was for the Ohio Lottery but was not told directly.

Which streets will be closed in Mansfield?

The closings will take place Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on North Main Street from Fifth Avenue to Fourth Avenue; and Fourth Street between Diamond Street and Walnut Street.

Traffic will be directed around these closed areas with barricades and signs. Southbound traffic from downtown is encouraged to use Mulberry Street.

Guests and visitors can access shops on North Main Street through rear entrances as streets and public walkways will not be accessible during this period. Guests and visitors will have normal access to businesses on Fourth Avenue. Additionally, every precaution will be taken to help the public use retailers and businesses normally.
