Cardiff City owners should pay attention to Ömer Rıza’s style – Blake

Nathan Blake says Cardiff City’s owners need to pay attention to the style of football the Bluebirds are currently playing under interim boss Ömer Riza.

Cardiff have taken 11 points from six championship matches since Erol Bulut’s departure, scoring 10 goals this term.

They also kept three consecutive clean sheets under Rıza management; the most recent of which was a goalless draw with promotion hopefuls West Bromwich Albion.

On the other hand, they scored only once in six league matches under Bulut management this season and managed to not concede a single goal.

Former Cardiff and Wales forward Blake thinks the Bluebirds should continue as they are now after significant improvement under Riza.

“You need some sort of consistency. When a manager gets a job on a permanent basis, it changes the mentality of the players,” Call told Rob.

“I think they need that stability going forward. You’ve got to take your hat off to him (Riza), they’ve completely changed based on where they are and how they’re playing.

“I played the game against Portsmouth and I would say to the owner that going forward, when people talk about Cardiff City’s philosophy and how they play, watch what’s going on at the moment and you’ll understand.

“He did a really good job in a difficult situation for me.

“What Cardiff’s owners need to do is make sure they’re not trying to control things.

“Just go out and let the people who can do the job do their job well.”
