New York Giants Fans Reacted to Steelers’ 26-18 Loss on Social Media

The New York Giants found themselves beaten by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, losing 26-18, and Giants fans on social media were understandably disappointed with what transpired.

Big Blue caused officials to throw plenty of flags. They had 11 65-yard penalties; some penalties negated big plays or, in one case, a touchdown by tight end Chris Manhertz on a 16-yard reception early in the second quarter was erased by an illegal substitution. against receiver Malik Nabers.

As the team’s frustration grew, so did the creativity of the memes.

The Giants’ offense finished with 394 yards; If they had been better on third downs (5 of 13) and in the red zone (0 for 3) that would have been enough to win.

New York got four field goals from Greg Joseph, accounting for 12 of the 18 points. The other six points came on a 45-yard touchdown run by running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., who left the game late with a concussion after recording 20 carries for 145 yards.

The Giants attempted a 2-point conversion after Tracy’s touchdown, but the game was doomed from start to finish.

It all started with the fact that the team was not ready, the early interception of the ball gave Alex Highsmith a free path towards pass receiver Malik Nabers.

Jones, who has played better on the road than at home this season, finished 24-of-38 for 264 yards and one interception (which came late in the game). He failed to score a touchdown and was sacked four times, including twice by TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith.

However, some of the sacks could be attributed to Jones holding the ball for too long.

Jones’ lone interception occurred on the team’s final drive. Trailing by eight points, he attempted to connect with running back Devin Singletary, only to have Beanie Bishop intercept the pass safely to end the Giants’ hopes of tying the game.

Early in the game, Jones drew criticism from commentator Troy Aikman for showing a lack of anticipation on a deep ball to receiver Darius Slayton that fell incomplete.

Although this loss wasn’t entirely Jones’ fault, it did little to assuage the growing frustration of fans who had endured six seasons of inconsistent play from the team’s “franchise quarterback.”

Slayton caught four balls for 108 yards, including a long of 43 yards. Slayton also had a goal called back which was disallowed by a penalty. Still, it received positive feedback from fans on social media.

Even a Steelers fan of Slayton sided with him. Near the end of the game, a fan suggested the Steelers trade Slayton.

The Giants will return home in six days to host the Washington Commanders. New York has yet to win at MetLife Stadium this season.
