Quinta Brunson Honored at Environmental Media Awards 2024

The Environmental Media Association held its 34th annual awards gala on Saturday.

Hosted by EMA board member Malin Akerman and actor Dermot Mulroney, the night where Hollywood productions were rewarded for their sustainability efforts took place at Radford Studios. The theme of the night was to attract the attention of younger generations and involve them in the cause of sustainability. Quinta Brunson has been awarded the EMA Futures Award, which recognizes young industry professionals for their commitment to a greener lifestyle.

Brunson was introduced by Abbott Elementary School a heartfelt speech from lead actor Chris Perfetti. “Quinta Brunson is nothing short of a force of nature. A modern marvel. “I fervently believe that a hundred years from now scientists will be studying his brain to better understand man’s productivity and genius,” Perfetti said of his co-star and boss.

Perfetti cited Brunson’s compassionate leadership as the creator and star of the ABC sitcom. “The majority of our crew has been with us since pilothood, which is rare. “That’s because Quinta has created a place you wouldn’t want to be without,” Perfetti said. “How’s that for sustainability?”

Brunson then took the stage and thanked Perfetti for the introduction. “Like all of you in the room tonight, I care deeply about this planet we all share,” he told the crowd. “I’m proud to be part of a community that values ​​sustainability, and I’m excited to continue down that path by not just recycling and composting old jokes.”

The actor took quotes from TV legend Norman Lear and music legend Bob Marley to “briefly address the past, present and future without boring” the audience. He took the time to talk about the “endless flood” of environmental problems that everyone must help collectively clean up.

“That’s why we’re here, because we all have to do what we can to turn this planet over and make it sustainable for those kids. Abbott Elementary School and the wonderful members of the Pasadena Girls Chorus singing ‘Big Yellow Tennessee,'” he said, referring to the group of young artists who opened the night.

Concluding his speech, Brunson said, “Thank you for your faith in me, and I will do my best to continue to be worthy of it.” “Thank you even more for everything you have done and will do for the future of all our children.”

Presenters of the awards include Ed Begley Jr. and daughter Hayden Begley, as well as Nikki Reed, Ian Somerhalder and Jesse Metcalfe.
