Halloween celebrations will close Park City’s Main Street

The community is invited to the family and dog-friendly celebration in Old Town Park City from 3 to 6 p.m.

The street will be closed to all vehicle traffic from Main Street to Ninth Avenue starting at 2 p.m.

Sweden Road will be one-way, limited to northbound traffic. On Thursday, the parking lot at China Bridge is accessible only from Marsac Boulevard. A flat fee of $15 will be charged.

Park City Special Events and Facilities Coordinator Chris Phinney encourages people coming to Main Street to use free public transportation.

“We will depart from Richardson Flat at a 10-minute frequency starting at 2:15 p.m., and the last bus from the Old Town Transit Center will depart for Richardson Flat at 7:45 p.m.”

Deer Valley Drive will also be reduced to one lane with a bus lane starting at 2 p.m.

For owners planning to strut their stuff at Howl-O-Ween, leashed dogs will be welcome on Park City and High Valley Transit buses.

Phinney says there will be some free parking in the Sand Ridge Lot off Marsac Boulevard, and there will also be parking in the Park City and Deer Valley parking lots. Free parking will also be available in Park City School District parking lots after 4 p.m.

Main Street will reopen to traffic at 6.30pm on Thursday.
